  • Karan Oberhansley, Veterinarian


    Dr. Karan Oberhansley has owned and operated Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital since its establishment in 1985.  She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary medicine in 1979. Following graduation, Dr. Oberhansley pursued advanced training and completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Michigan State University.  To further specialize her skills, Dr. Oberhansley was a surgical resident at Cornell University.
    Dr. Oberhansley is especially devoted to helping area shelters provide sound medical care and has offered reduced fee services to rescued animals for many years. She was instrumental in establishing pediatric spay/neuter programs in shelters. She has provided free spay/neuter services to hundreds of animals on native american reservations in New Mexico since 2008. She was awarded "The Star of Recognition" by St. Hubert's in 2010 for her exceptional professional contributions, support and guidance. She has been acknowledged by numerous newspapers as well as radio and television reporters for her volunteerism.
    Dr. Karan and her husband Dr. Dean Newton, director of AnimERge, have a small farm and a family of dogs, cats, many birds and sheep. They have four children.  Their son Brett has worked as a veterinarian at AnimERge since 2014 and will soon be joining the staff of Whitehouse Vet to continue the family tradition of excellent veterinary care.

  • Leighann Farrar, Veterinarian

    Dr. Leighann Farrar graduated from Texas A & M. She has been a wonderful addition to our hospital for 16 years. Dr. Farrar isn't without her adopted toy chihuahua named Pitri.

  • Barbara Guy, Veterinarian

    Dr. Barbara Guy joined the team at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital in 2000. Dr. Guy works full time at Animerge but is here Tuesday mornings. Dr. Guy graduated from the veterinary school at the University of Minnesota in 1986. Dr. Guy was raised on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. She completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Georgia. Early in her career, Dr. Guy practiced large animal medicine for several years prior to becoming entirely dedicated to small animals. She is the mother of three beautiful, intelligent children and is still active in the equine community.
    Dr. Guy has excellent medical and surgical skills and is available for consultation for your pets. She is enthusiastic about applying her broad knowledge base in order to provide optimal care to your pet.  Dr. Guy is very knowledgeable in the treatment of rabbits.

  • Kathy Carriere, Management Staff

    Kathy Carriere is our lovely, efficient office manager.  Kathy adopted her adorable dog Cody from St. Hubert's, her husband John and her two sons love him and his blue eyes.
  • Jennifer Stroka, Technician Staff

    Jennifer Dembeski Stroka grew up in Whitehouse Station and was always active in 4-H. She is the go to person for questions about rabbit, fowl and pocket pet husbandry. Jen has worked at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital since 1994.
    Jen is an excellent technician and is also responsible for our pharmacy. Any special medications that are needed as well as our regular drugs are expertly ordered by Jen. She has also been responsible for several clinical trials that we have participated in to help bring new therapeutic drugs to the market to benefit our pets.
    Jen and her husband Rob have a fantastic daughter, Hannah, and a menagerie of dogs, cats, chickens, geese and ducks. She loves her animals and her patients!

  • Laura Roerig, Technician Staff

    Laura has been with Dr. Karan since 1985. Laura is a highly skilled technician with expertise in all aspects of surgery, medicine and dentistry. She is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of reptile, rodent, avian and rabbit medicine, surgery and husbandry. Unfortunately she is only with us two days a week! She has two great sons.             
    Laura is a real asset to Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital and has been with Dr. Karan since 1985.

  • Kayla Thoden, Technician Staff

    Kayla is a Veterinary Technician and has worked for Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital for the past three years.  Kayla and her family are dog lovers and she has always lived with multiple dogs in her home.  The animals love her kind and caring nature.  She is currently working while attending college training to be a radiology technician.

  • Ana Moser, Reception Staff

    Ana Moser has been cheerfully and professionally assisting clients and patients at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital since 1997. Whether you need a medication refill or an appointment right away, Ana is your friend and advocate.
    Ana and her darling daughter Sophia adopted "Lemon" from St. Hubert's. Lemon is a little chihuahua from the puppy mill rescue who has a deformed hind leg.

    CarolLynn had worked at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital since 2002.  She and her husband Ed have two beautiful children and "Belle" a rescue dog. Everyone is grateful to have CarolLynn at the desk, her friendly smile, and competent skills.

  • Julie Landry, Reception Staff

    Julie Landry has been a veterinary technician at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital since 1997. Julie is the most kind, loving and lovely technician, the animals trust her unconditionally. She is extremely competent in surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture and catheter placement. Recently she has been acting as a receptionist at the desk.
    Julie and her husband Jim, a teacher, have 3 children and several pets. She is a pleasure to work with and is loved by staff, clients and pets alike. We wish we could clone her!
